Shoe Condition Scale
Every pair is graded before listing. The condition grade appears on each product page.

| 9/10 | Excellent Used | Light, barely visible wear on soles. No significant creasing, scuffs, or staining. Presentable as gift-ready. |
| 8/10 | Very Good Used | Moderate sole wear. Minor creasing visible on upper. No tears, deep scuffs, or odor. Inspected and cleaned. |
| 7/10 | Good Used | Noticeable wear consistent with regular use. May have visible creasing or light scuffing. Structurally sound. |
| Below 7/10 | Not Listed | NorthNYC does not list shoes below a 7/10 condition. These are not sold on our platform. |
Box Condition Scale
Box condition is graded separately from shoe condition and listed on every product page.

| OB– | Original Box — Good | Factory box included. Minor wear: slight crush, small tear, or light label residue. Structurally intact. All inserts present unless noted. |
| OB–NL | Original Box — No Lid | Original shoe box base is present but lid is missing or damaged beyond use. Shoe is stored in a replacement lid or alternate box top. |
| PB | Plain / Plain Brown Box | Original box is not available. Shoe ships in a clean, plain brown or white shipping box. Does not affect shoe authenticity or condition grade. |
| NB | No Box | No box included. Shoe ships wrapped in tissue inside a protective shipping mailer or outer carton. |
What "Original Packaging Included" Means
When a listing states Original Packaging Included, it means all of the following are present unless explicitly noted as missing:
- Factory shoe box with matching lid (OB grade)
- Original tissue paper or crinkle fill
- Brand hang tags, if originally included
- Extra laces, if originally included
- Any manufacturer inserts (size cards, care cards, certificates)
If any component is missing, it will be called out in the product listing under Packaging Notes.
Provenance & Receipts
NorthNYC authenticates every pair regardless of whether a purchase receipt is available. Receipts are not a condition of sale or a proxy for authenticity — our in-house inspection process is.
- Receipt Available: Some listings include a retail or resale receipt. This is noted in the product description when present.
- No Receipt: The absence of a receipt does not affect the authenticity guarantee or condition grade.
- Provenance Notes: If a shoe has a known origin story (e.g., sample pair, player-issued, brand gifted), this is disclosed in the listing.
